Strengthening Ties with the German Jordanian University
The DHBW Villingen-Schwenningen welcomed guests from its Jordanian partner university, the German Jordanian University (GJU), to the campus in Schwenningen. The partnership, which has been in place for over ten years, is a prime example of the vibrant exchange of students, staff, and knowledge between Germany and Jordan.
As part of the annual network meeting of the GJU Business School, representatives from the GJU, professors from German partner universities, and colleagues from the GJU Project Office at Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences gathered for two days at DHBW Villingen-Schwenningen. After a welcome address by Prof. Dr. Gert Heinrich, Vice Rector for International Affairs and Dean of the Faculty of Business at DHBW VS, discussions focused on topics such as student and staff exchange, short programs, and new opportunities for cooperation.
In addition, Dr.-Ing. Farah Al-Atrash, Head of the Architecture and Interior Architecture Department and Dean of Student Affairs at the GJU, visited the DHBW campuses in Villingen-Schwenningen and Karlsruhe in August and September. She met with staff from the International Offices, the Green Office, and professors to discuss sustainability in higher education.
DHBW Villingen-Schwenningen coordinates the cooperation with the GJU centrally for all DHBW campuses. In addition to student exchanges, regular short programs give DHBW students the opportunity to experience the GJU and Jordan firsthand – a valuable contribution to intercultural understanding.
