Erfolgreiches englischsprachiges Angebot geht in die dritte Runde
Dritter Vorlesungszyklus »Current topics with international lecturers« startet im April 2023
Nach dem Start der neuen Vorlesungsreihe »Current topics with international lecturers« im Frühjahr 2022 setzten Gastdozierende und Lehrbeauftragte aus Jordanien, der Tschechischen Republik und Kanada die Vorlesungen im Oktober und November mit Fokus auf die Themen »Culture and Society«, »Cultural Intelligence«, »Business Ethics« und »Corporate Governance« fort. „Wir möchten damit das Angebot an englischsprachigen Vorlesungen vergrößern und gemeinsame Veranstaltungen von Studierenden der DHBW und internationalen Studierenden fördern“, erklärt Claudia Rzepka, Leiterin des International Office an der DHBW Villingen-Schwenningen.
„Die Vorlesungsreihe erfreut sich wachsender Bekanntheit und wird von Studierenden unterschiedlicher Studiengänge angenommen“, so Rzepka. „Es gibt aber durchaus noch freie Plätze. Studierende beider Fakultäten sind herzlich zu den Vorlesungen eingeladen, die sie auch für das neue Interkulturelle Zertifikat anrechnen lassen können. Das Angebot ist für alle Teilnehmenden eine Bereicherung.“
Die Vorlesungsreihe mit internationalen Gastdozierenden wird durch das Förderprogramm »HAW.International« des DAAD finanziert, auf das sich das International Office erfolgreich beworben hat. Ziel des Programms ist es, die Internationalisierung am Standort zu unterstützen und die Beziehungen zu den Partnerhochschulen zu stärken.
Ab April 2023 sind weitere Veranstaltungen geplant. Das International Office lädt zeitnah dazu ein und stellt Informationen in Moodle zur Verfügung.
Successful series of lectures in English enters its third round
The Current topics with international lecturers lecture series was launched early in 2022, and October and November saw guest lecturers from Jordan, the Czech Republic and Canada continue this program with lectures focusing on Culture and Society, Cultural Intelligence, Business Ethics, and Corporate Governance. “Our aim here is to expand the range of English language lectures and promote joint events for DHBW and international students,” explained Claudia Rzepka, Head of the International Office at the DHBW Villingen-Schwenningen.
“This lecture series has attracted growing recognition and is attended by students from a variety of study programs,” said Claudia Rzepka. “But don’t worry, there are still vacancies available. Students of both schools are warmly welcome to attend the lectures, and they can also have these credited to the new Intercultural Certificate. The program is an enriching experience for all participants.”
With guest lecturers from around the world, the lecture series is funded through the HAW.International support program of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) which the International Office successfully engaged for this purpose. The program aims to support internationalization at the location and strengthen relations with partner universities.
Further events are planned from April 2023. The International Office will issue invitations in good time, and information will also be posted on Moodle.
