Central Departments and Institutions related to the university
In addition to its study programmes, the DHBW Villingen-Schwenningen offers an extensive range of additional services which can be availed of across all its schools. The following service institutions contribute to the excellent working conditions enjoyed by students:
The library offers students and lecturers a comprehensive range of academic literature and magazines. Any literature not available at the university can be ordered through an inter-library lending service.
The Education Support Center (ESC) maintains a sustainable eLearning service through tuition and support for lecturers and students, the realisation of central planning activities and the design, further development and operation of respective software systems.
The IT Department is responsible for all IT services which, in addition to the operation of servers, also include providing the entire university with communication services (data network and telephony) and advice and partnership in all IT activities.
The organizational structure of DHBW is unique in Germany for it comprises both the central (DHBW headquarters) and the local level (DHBW locations and campuses). The university’s process management serves the DHBW locations by offering recommended actions for several purposes.
Regular evaluation on the part of Quality Management ensures that the success of the career-integrated study programme model is upheld and a continuous improvement process is sustained.
