Citavi: Literature management and knowledge organisation
The DHBW Villingen-Schwenningen has a campus licence for Citavi literature management and knowledge organisation software. Staff and students of our university can use this powerful program in the workplace and at home for studying, teaching and research. Citavi enables you to manage all the literature you have read, research specialist databases and library catalogues, organise knowledge, collect citations and generate automatic and standardised bibliographies in different citation styles. The university has a Citavi Team licence. This means that use of Citavi is not only restricted to personal projects. The team function allows several people to work simultaneously on a Citavi project.
How do I get Citavi?
- You can obtain the “Citavi Free” freeware version here: http://www.citavi.com/download (technical information on downloading: http://www.citavi.com/installation)
Order your free license key
Click here for the licence key ordering form: http://www.citavi.com/dhbw-vs
Important: Your DHBW-VS e-mail address (for staff) serves as authentication, or you can send the order from a computer in the university network (for students). You must log in first on the EZ proxy server outside the campus network.
Enter the license data in Citavi
- Start Citavi and enter the licence key on the e-mail you received from the software manufacturer. The e-mail describes the procedure. The licence key authorises you to use Citavi on two computers (at home and in the workplace) or on one computer and a USB stick.
Import the settings file
- We have configured the most important settings for you to allow you to use our library services without delay. Download this file for this purpose, unzip the ZIP file (right-hand mouse button > Extract all > Extract) and import this into Citavi (Open project in Citavi > Options > Import/Export settings > Import)
