International Guest Lecturer Week 2018

The Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) Villingen-Schwenningen invited their partner universities to the 4th International Guest Lecturer Week from 13 – 16 February 2018. Nine Guest Lecturers from the UK, Romania, Czeck Republik, Greece, Latvia and Hungary came to gives lectures in English. The event was organized by the International Office and the lecture series was themed “Business Management and Economics”. They were held within the curriculum of International Business, Technical Management, Small and Medium Sized Enterprises and Industrial Management. Students had the possibility to build their international and foreign language competencies. “I have been abroad to Seville and for me, it is a bonus to be able to hear lecturers from other European countries.” said student Sarah Hermann.

Alongside the lectures, the strengthening of international co-operations with partner universities is an important factor of the guest lecturer week. The opportunity was given when professors could discuss common interests in research and teaching. The BLIC –project was one point of interest during the week. Prof. DBA Jürgen Bleicher is head of this project which is financed by BWS plus. Claudia Rzepka, deputy head of International Office, and her team, organized the lecture series as well as a cultural program for the visitors. This included a visit to the local carnival festivities as well as a visit to the production plant for Porsche in Stuttgart. The event was deemed a success by all participants.
