SUMMER SCHOOL
The Summer School at Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University Villingen-Schwenningen (DHBW VS) is a two-week academic event organized every July for interested students from partner institutions. The Summer School combines different academic methodologies such as lectures, round-table discussions, group-work, and presentations in English with a varied cultural program. Participants benefit from small groups and an interactive approach. The students visit local enterprises and go on trips to discover the beautiful Black Forest-Baar-Region. Students are awarded a certificate at the end of the Summer School.
International lecturers add to the open and diverse atmosphere; courses cover a wide academic field, from Intercultural Competences to Economics, Business Administration and language classes.
The students stay at youth hostels or similar accommodations and can use all university facilities, such as cafeteria/canteen, library etc.

We are now accepting applications for our 2012 Summer School on the subject
New Technologies & Social Networking from July 16 to July 27, 2012.
An interdisciplinary and international approach gives students the opportunity to learn about new developments in technology and Social Networking in an academic as well as business context. Students apply their knowledge through hands-on projects and learn about the implementation of New Technologies & Social Networking through company visits. The program is rounded off by an all-level German class.
Costs: Students cover their costs of travel to and from Villingen-Schwenningen and their costs of living, e.g. accommodation, meals. A €100 payment made to the International Office upon arrival will cover admission costs and local transport.

From July 4th to 15th, Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University Villingen-Schwenningen had hosted the Summer School 2011. Our guest this year came from Tula State University, Leo-Tolstoi-University Tula, St. Petersburg University of Design and Technology and Moscow International Business School (MIRBIS).
This year's Summer School included an academic and cultural program. The students attended a seminar Business Culture in Germany which had given them an insight on the business etiquette of Germany as well as an idea of how to work with people from diverse international backgrounds. Further lectures such as gaining intercultural competences, pricing or promotional strategies and German as a foreign Language had completed our academic program. The courses, all of which were taught in English were designed to inspire and challenge the students in their areas of interest. The students enjoyed a varied Summer School that included a company visit to Aesculap in Tuttligen, to the Fürstenberg Brewery in Donaueschingen and to the company Hess in Villingen. Other daily excursions including trips to Vogtsbauernhoefe in the Black Forest, Rhine Falls, Triberg Waterfalls, Lake Constance, Stuttgart and the towns of Villingen and Schwenningen which allowed opportunities to get to know the beautiful Black-Forest-Baar region. We are looking forward to welcoming our new international students soon!
From July 2nd to 13th, Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University Villingen-Schwenningen hosted the Summer School 2010. Our guests this year were a group of Russian students from St. Petersburg University of Design and Technology.
The students had an unforgettable experience in Villingen-Schwenningen, educational as well as cultural. A business simulation, which lasted several days, gave the group the opportunity to try out their business skills in a realistic setting. They also got to interact with German students who took part in the simulation. The seminar Business Culture in Germany gave them an insight into business etiquette in Germany as well as an idea of how to work with people from diverse international backgrounds. The courses, all of which were taught in English were designed to inspire and challenge the students in their areas of interest.
This year's Summer School was completed by a varied off-campus program: Company visits to Aesculap in Tuttligen and theFürstenberg Brewery in Donaueschingen as well as daily excursions to Rhine Falls, Lake Constance, Stuttgart and the towns of Villingen and Schwenningen gave them the opportunity to get to know the beautiful Black-Forest-Baar region.
The Summer School 2010 was a perfect chance for the students to experience academic life in Germany on a modern and well-equipped campus, make friends, enjoy a truly intercultural and international experience, and discover everything the area has to offer. Thanks to the students from St. Petersburg, the 2010 Summer School was a great success and we look forward to welcoming more international students to Villingen-Schwenningen in the future!
In 2009, Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University hosted the Summer School for a group of Russian students from Moscow International Higher Business School.
The students enjoyed a varied Summer School that included a company visit of the Fürstenberg Brewery in Donaueschingen as well as other daily excursions and an academic programm with a Business Simulation Game and intercultural lectures.
The Moscow students experienced academic life in Germany on a modern and well-equipped campus in an intercultural setting.
Thanks to the students from Moscow, the 2009 Summer School was a great success and we look forward to welcoming more international students to Villingen-Schwenningen in the future!
